Au Pairs

Au Pairs are inexpensive, more flexible than traditional childcare,
and can be more rewarding to both families and children.
Families may ask au pairs to do most household duties, but not
clean toilets, scrub floors, clean out ovens and similar. They
are not
qualified nannies so not to be left alone caring for babies/toddlers.

The au pairs' english lessons are usually in
school hours, and around 2- 8 hours weekly.

The au pair pays for travel to the UK and the families
collect the au pair themselves
or pay a coach/train ticket from the arrival point .
We have placed many male
au pairs - if you have boys, or older children, or pets,
maybe if you want a confident driver - these are the
typical situations a male placement may suit well.

An au pair lives as part of the family and is expected to
be made welcome as a family member with respect shown
to
both the family and au pair.

An au pair is not a domestic servant but helps part time in the home -

hours are usually 25 but can be up to 35 depending on
nationality, age, experience etc. Duties often include Child
Care, taking and collecting children from nursery/school,
Light Housework including ironing, help with pets.
