Nannies / Other Staff

Nannies:

A nanny works at your home, caring for your child/children, or possibly two families’ children, is usually female and normally qualified. Qualifications often change nowadays but include a two year college course such as N.N.E.B, BTEC, N.V.Q, N.A.M.C.W, or similar.
Nannies can be registered if you prefer, which gives the family (if applicable) the chance to enjoy benefits of Working Tax Credits.

A nanny's responsibilities known as 'Nursery Duties' usually include washing, ironing and cooking for the children, cleaning their bedrooms or play areas, nurseries. Other household tasks are not normal. If the nanny lives in she will have her own bedroom and often a private bathroom. Some nannies are given a car or the use of the family's car, but she may use her own car (see nanny terms)
A nanny's wage depends on qualifications, experience, age and if live in or out. A daily nanny should not work over 10 hours per day, with 1-2 evenings per week babysitting paid on top. Most nannies will cover for the odd evening or even weekend on an occasional basis but not regularly. A residential nanny should not work more than 10 hours per day Residential nannies work up to two evenings babysitting per week (included in pay)
